Hibanobambusa tranquillans 'Shiroshima'
Shiroshima Bamboo

From Japan, Shiroshima Bamboo is a runner although not very aggressive as such. It is very hardy to about 0 F. The variegated leaves are stunning! Most plants I have seen around costal Texas are 4 to 6 feet tall although it reported to grow to 16 feet tall by some growers. It prefers moist soil and partial shade. Excessive sun or drought will cause the white areas of the leaves to turn brown.

7' tall, 0.5" dia culms, good to 0 deg F
